LickerLicorice was rescued in the fall of 2006 from Franklin County Shelter with her 4 puppies. When she was taken from the shelter she would not walk to the truck so she was carried. Later after a good physical exam by Dr. Covington at the clinic, it was discovered that her right hind leg was severely fractured in multiple areas. Again, as in many other cases, Licker was stabilized with medications, and due to lack of rescue funds for very expensive orthopedic surgery, Dr. Covington amputated the leg. Over the next several weeks, Licker went to the Covington homestead for her recovery and yes you guessed it, she never left. As for Licker today, running, jumping, swimming are her main activities. She loves to bark at the 3 pygmy goats she shares her space with, as well as the other dogs she wrestles with everyday.
